The God of Carnage

Produced by QTP Entertainment Pvt Ltd
Written by Yasmina Reza
Directed by Nadir Khan
Role Stage Manager

Two young children are involved in an altercation in a public park resulting in one of the children being injured and needing some minor treatment. The parents meet to discuss the situation and see what the way forward should be in terms of reconciling and reprimanding their children. As the evening progresses, the parents themselves become increasingly childish and petty, resulting in the evening degenerating into chaos, name-calling, intra-couple ganging up and generally hilarious – yet thought provoking – viciousness.

While being exceedingly well written and chock – full of brilliant lines, The God of Carnage still manages to question the society we live in, the concepts of “maturing” and “adult behaviour” and the different influences that various modes of parenting and lifestyle – choices can have on one’s children.
